Councillor Bell's position on city finances:
Bob has been very vocal over this past term on overspending and deceptive budgeting. The massive capital projects that are
being undertaken coupled with the lack of courage to raise taxes to pay for them has resulted in the immediate cutting of basic services (garbage) and
inevitable large taxes increases in the near future. A new Museum and Civic Square at a cost of over $20million are not going to make a significant contribution to the vitality of the downdown. They should have been delayed.
